Emma Nicolls
Osteopath

My goal through osteopathy is to help people to make positive changes in their life - whatever this may look like. Whether this be supporting a reduction in pain levels, improving people’s ability to function or engage in the activities that they love. I want to enable and support these changes for people, so that they can thrive in their lives.
To achieve this, I use a range of osteopathic techniques that can vary from soft-tissue and mobilisation techniques to rehabilitation exercises that are tailored to each individual. I take pride in listening to each person’s story and doing my very best to respond to each person’s unique needs.
My journey to osteopathy came through a keen interest in health that first took me to Otago University to study Sports science and Nutrition, with a minor in physiology.
It was an inspirational course, but I felt that I wanted to apply my knowledge in a more hands-on way to benefit others. Alongside my personal experience with a back injury, that led me to deeply appreciate what Osteopathy could offer, I was drawn to the profession and the ability to practically explore the potential of health and recovery, alongside patients.
I am eager to help people from any walk of life, and with any problem that they want support with. I have a special interest in people with chronic neck and back pain, but I welcome people with problem shoulders, hips, knees ankles and the rest!
Outside of work I enjoy time spent outside, hiking in the port hills and
discovering what other activities Christchurch has to offer!
